Successful Students

PTA seeks to improve children’s educations by focusing on National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.
While classroom help is often needed, we realize this is not always practical for all families. There are many other ways that you can volunteer your time, whether it be administrative, event planning, providing translation services, or stapling packets. Perhaps you have a special skill or job that you would like to share with the students. Nothing is too small!

If you are fortunate enough to be able to help out during the school day, Sacramento Unified School District has guidelines for volunteering with students. Every volunteer who works on campus must fill out a Volunteer Registration Form (pdf file, 33k). In addition, if you will ever be alone with a child in the classroom or will drive children other than your own on a field trip, you must also be fingerprinted through the school district. For more information, visit the SCUSD website.

PTA offers scholarships to cover the cost of fingerprinting. To apply, download the form here (pdf file, 482k). If you have any questions, contact president@suttervillepta.org.
